Disclaimer
Last updated: 13 September 2026. This page explains, in one place, what BRAIN.ONE is and is not, and how that applies to the free brain check, the app and its plans, clinician sharing, and the health manager portal. It supplements — and does not replace — the Terms of Use, Privacy Policy and Consumer Health Data Privacy Policy, each of which is incorporated here by reference. Where this page and those documents differ, those documents control.
1. General disclaimer
BRAIN.ONE is a brain fitness, neurotechnology and digital wellness platform. For investigational use only. BRAIN.ONE is not a medical device and does not diagnose, treat, cure, mitigate or prevent any disease, disorder, injury or condition. BRAIN.ONE is not a medical provider, mental health platform, telehealth provider, therapy or counseling service, emergency service or crisis-response service.
All content on this site and in the BRAIN.ONE app — including scores, bands, area breakdowns, trends, summaries, protocols, suggested actions and any content generated with the help of automated systems — is provided for informational, educational, wellness and self-tracking purposes only. It is not medical advice and does not create a clinician-patient or provider-patient relationship with BRAIN.ONE.
Always seek the advice of a qualified clinician with any questions about your health. Never disregard professional medical advice, or delay seeking it, because of something you read or saw here. If you think you may have a medical emergency, call your local emergency number immediately.
2. The free brain check
•Self-reported starting point: the brain check consists of short self-report questions plus two timed tasks (reaction time and memory span). It is a starting point for a conversation about habits — not a measurement, assessment, screening test or diagnosis of any condition.
•Not validated for clinical use: the score, band, area breakdowns and task results have not been validated as clinical instruments and must not be used to make medical decisions, to rule a condition in or out, or in place of evaluation by a clinician.
•Conditions affect results: sleep, caffeine, stress, illness, medication, device performance, touchscreen latency and distraction all affect timed-task results. Results vary between sittings and should not be read as change in your brain.
•Nothing is measured until baseline: no objective measurement exists until your face scan, blood biomarkers and cognitive testing are completed in the app.
•Plan recommendations: any plan or tier shown at the end of the brain check is a commercial suggestion based on your stated goals, timing and budget. It is not a clinical recommendation.
3. The app, plans and protocols
•Protocols are lifestyle habits: the daily protocol and any personalised plan generated in the app consist of general wellness habits such as sleep timing, light exposure, movement, breathing and focus practice. They are not treatment for any condition and are not prescribed.
•Automated generation: parts of your plan and some written summaries are generated by automated systems from the information you provide. Automated output can be incomplete, inaccurate or unsuitable for you. Review it with judgement, and with a clinician where relevant.
•Your responsibility: you decide whether to follow any suggestion. Stop any activity that causes pain, dizziness or distress, and consult a clinician before making changes to sleep, exercise, diet, supplements or any prescribed treatment.
•Beta software: the iPhone app is distributed as a beta through TestFlight. Features, scores and data may change, be interrupted, or be reset during the beta period.
•No outcome guarantee: individual results vary. Any example, testimonial or sample figure shown on this site is illustrative and is not typical or expected results.
4. Clinician sharing
•Informational summary only: a shared summary is a wellness and self-tracking record generated by BRAIN.ONE. It is not a medical record, laboratory report, diagnostic report or clinical assessment, and it is not intended for inclusion in a medical record as a clinical finding.
•No clinician relationship: sharing a summary with a clinician does not create a clinician-patient relationship with BRAIN.ONE, does not constitute a referral, and does not make that clinician a BRAIN.ONE provider. BRAIN.ONE is not a HIPAA-covered entity and does not act as a healthcare provider.
•Clinical judgement rests with the clinician: any clinician who receives a summary is solely responsible for how they interpret and use it. Face-scan derived signals and cognitive task results are wellness signals, not validated diagnostic measures.
•You control sharing: you choose whether to share, with whom, and for how long. Once a summary has been received, BRAIN.ONE cannot control what the recipient does with the information they have already seen, saved or copied.
5. The health manager portal
•Not clinicians: BRAIN.ONE health managers are not licensed clinicians acting in a clinical capacity through the portal. They provide onboarding, coaching and account support, not medical care, diagnosis or treatment.
•Messages and drafts: messages sent from the portal may be drafted with the help of automated systems and are reviewed by a person before sending. They are general wellness communications, not medical advice, and are not monitored for emergencies.
•Not for urgent issues: do not use the portal, email or any BRAIN.ONE message channel to report a medical emergency, a crisis, or an urgent safety concern. These channels are not monitored continuously and may not be read for some time.
•Internal access: portal access is limited to authorised BRAIN.ONE personnel and is used to support members and to operate the service, as described in the Privacy Policy.
6. Third-party content, links and services

7. No warranty and limitation of liability
The services and all content are provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis, without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, or uninterrupted availability, to the fullest extent permitted by law. To the fullest extent permitted by law, BRAIN.ONE, Inc. and its officers, employees and contractors are not liable for any decision made, action taken, or outcome arising from reliance on the brain check, plans, protocols, summaries, portal communications or any other content. The limitations and exclusions in the Terms of Use apply to this page in full.
